10 Modern Interiors Featuring The Iconic Egg Chair

Warm and inviting layered with geometric shapes, clean lines, simplicity and elements full of texture and interest, moden interiors are very popular in homes, offices and public spaces for decades. Their design is very simple and even minimal and some of the best-known examples of modern design are chairs. That’s why we want to share with you some beautiful modern interiors which have something in common and we’re sure you’ve guessed from the title: one of Arne Jacobsen’s most popular designs – the Egg™ chair. Although maybe not many of you know its history, we know for sure that very few of you haven’t seen so far this outstanding and innovative shape.

The famous Egg™ chair was designed by admired architect and designer Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the lobby and reception areas in the Royal Hotel, in Copenhagen and since then it has become synonymous with Danish furniture design throughout the world. The lounge is one of the triumphs of Jacobsen’s total design because he was the first to use the new technique which assumed a strong foam inner shell underneath the upholstery.

The shell’s perfect shape that Jacobsen strove to find it guarantees a bit of privacy and calls for a modern and original design. With or without footstool, the Egg™ chair is ideal for public spaces as well as for the home and is built to last. There’s just something appealing about this unique design, that’s why we wanted to show you how impressive this chair is. Enjoy 10 beautiful and eye-catching modern interiors featuring this iconic furniture piece that we gathered for you, each one having a distinct atmosphere.
