Canadian design office SURFACE3 has designed “De Farine & D’eau Fraiche” in Montreal, Canada- a pastry shop with different and amazing interior design concept. Breaking the conventions that shape the everyday, SURFACE3 has created an unique story for this pastry shop to enhance our everyday experiences.
The brand strategy, visual identity and the interior design of it were entirely developed by SURFACE3 and we have to say that they’ve done a really wonderful work. “De Farine & D’eau Fraiche” opened its doors in January 2011 and once you stepped inside, you feel like taking part in its interesting concept story, which is an amazing mixture of love, naiveté, spontaneity, youth, and escapism. The approach of brand strategy, visual identity and interior design is a holistic one, every element from logo, furniture, service to food blends together and offers to us this space full of meanings.
It is based on the simple, magical and lasting significance of the ritual about friendship and love (buying and giving pasteries) and the pleasure of indulging them. Very cute, the pastry shop’s interior space is full of inspiring fine details, being able to awake the youthfulness in everyone. White walls and custom made furniture finished in dark wood make a striking contrast, giving the feeling that you are in a surreal place.
Impossible not to be observed, the hanging sculptural lights add a touch of originality to the awesome boutique’s decor. Who can refuse enchanting mini-cakes, hybrid breakfast muffins, homemade caramel bites available in a endless variety of flavors or swirly cookies, especially when they are served in such a place?
