Wide Outdoor Exhibition of Unique Displays on Regent Street, London

Home to some of the most iconic architecture in London, Regent Street is one of the major shopping streets in London’s West End and perhaps one of the leading international shopping destinations in the world, well known to tourists and Londoners alike. It’s a prestigious business address too. It offers space for small offices and growing businesses as well as large, modern office space for international companies. It has an interesing history dated since 1825 and every building there is protected as a Listed Building and together they form the Regent Street Conservation Area. The Crown Estate is the owner of the Regent Street who manages on behalf of the Regent Street Partnership, which also includes The Crown Estate’s joint venture partner, Norges Bank Investment Management. Their investment programme aim to transform the street into an award-winning international destination.

Regent Street now rivals the Champs-Elysées and Fifth Avenue. With over 2km of store frontage, it is home to one of the finest collections of international brands in the world, including Apple, Burberry, Banana Republic, Jaeger, Desigual, and Anthropologie. This year is the third year when Regent Street is home to an interesting outdoor exhibition of unique displays in the prestigious Regent Street Windows Project for wide outdoor exhibition, a fun event where visitors are delighted in seeing original designs placed in partnered retailer windows.

Established as a stand-alone annual event, the limited edition project is an initiative of The Royal Institute of British Architects where some of the worlds best up and coming architects are challenged to design spatial installations that reflects their retail partners’ brand. In 2012, the projec’s theme title is “Play” and it will be seen starting with 16 April to 6 May 2012 and can be seen 24 hrs a day. Look how they will decorate the shops’ windows this spring.
