Besides the temperature, the smell also plays a vital role in making it comfortable. If there is a foul odour in your bedroom, you might not want to spend time in it, or if you do, it would be uncomfortable. Below are some tips to keep your bedroom smelling fresh.

Find the source of bad smell

Different things could cause a nasty odour in your bedroom, such as spoiled foods, pet waste, and dirty clothes. First, look around and determine where the smell is coming from. If you can spot the source of the odour, it will be easier to eliminate it. For instance, you might have forgotten the food you ate several days ago, and the leftover could be causing a foul smell. Removing that and spraying air freshener can solve the problem.

Clean the bedroom regularly

If it’s difficult to find the cause of the smell, the best way is to do a general cleaning of the bedroom. Clean every inch of the room to remove not only the foul odour but the dirt too. Take this as an opportunity to organise your things. A tidy bedroom is more relaxing. Consider getting fitted wardrobes to have more storage and maximise your space. Unlike ready-made cabinets, bespoke wardrobes will match your style, room size and shape, and budget. Clean things up right away to keep your room organised and fresh. Do a deep clean at least once a week too.

Open the windows

Open the windows and doors when cleaning the bedroom. It will release the unwanted smell and let fresh air from the outside come in. It will also bring natural light, especially when the weather is nice. Since you will probably use disinfectants and other products when cleaning the bedroom, opening the windows and doors will also remove their harsh smell.

Replace bedsheets and pillowcases

When was the last time you replaced your bedsheet and pillowcases? It could also be a source of bad smell. So, replace them at least twice a week. It will also help in keeping the room smelling nice. Moreover, replacing them will give a fresh look to your room, which is also revitalising.

Clean dirty laundry

If you have a laundry basket in your bedroom where you put your dirty clothes, wash them every few days to prevent them from stinking. If your busy schedule would not allow you to do so and you can only do it once a week, place the laundry basket in your washroom instead of the bedroom.

Use scented candles and essential oils

After deep cleaning the room, keep it smelling fine with the use of scented candles. You may also use essential oils. Get an oil diffuser if you don’t have one yet. Besides making the room smell good, oils also have various benefits, such as stress relief and relaxation.

Maintain the cleanliness of your bedroom and your entire home by cleaning things right away. The general cleaning will not be too hard and long if you keep things tidy regularly.
