Jeonghwa Seo in collaboration with Hanna Chung created an original looking Ripple Effect Tea Table whose design is different of what we’ve seen lately, because it supposed to be a reflection of the importance of awareness of cultural differences in today’s process of globalization. It’s an interesting approach where the tea table attempts to deliver an interface for analyzing the way of considering cultural differences in psychological level through the process of design and form. So, the simple yet practical design of the table comes with a little extra: each time you place the cup on the table surface, the ripples can be seen speeding up on the surface of the body. As a result, the water layer then becomes a visual symbolism of a deeper psychological understanding of how the small changes can affect the whole picture. Ash, plywood, earthen ware and pure water were the materials chosen for creating this Ripple Effect Tea Table.
