The new  Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Paris opened at the end of June has the most striking elegant and ultra modern design for its  restaurant and bar inspired by Parisian haute couture. Jouin-Manku Agency in collaboration with Patrick Jouin  iD’s  designers wanted to create a very Parisian, refined and unexpected look for these spaces. Mandarin Oriental’s acclaimed for its superb and luxury hotels. Perfectly located in the world’s most prestigious destinations, Mandarin Oriental welcomes you with legendary service and exquisite facilities, steeped in the values of the orient. In Paris, Mandarin Oriental Hotel is situated on one of the most fashionable streets in the world, Rue Saint-Honoré, surrounded by haute couture and steps from the Louvre. For this location, they introduce a fresh creativity in every aspect.

interiors that combine natural elements with oriental influences, a dining experience by Thierry Marx and their legendary service. The two hotel restaurants and bar stands out for their inventive modern design. Every space will give the clients  a radical and unique experience. The gastronomic restaurant is an elegant white space which looks like a cosy cocoon.  The walls and ceiling draped in white fabric installed by Lallier and Siegeair and also the light that comes from the center completes the magnificent atmosphere from the restaurant. For Camélia the designs are on a lighter scale, with walls sculpted to the shape of white camellia flower petals. The chairs also have a soft organic feel, all done in white and wood. Lightness being the dominant theme, the whole space is a continuation of the indoor landscape garden. Both Camélia and the main restaurant, Sur Mesure, is headed by star chef Thierry Marx. And for Sur Mesure the design is clearly more arty. Walls and tables are covered with textiles exclusively designed by textile designer Heide Winge Ström and in the center a small enclosure serves as a light pond with a floating sculpture suspended in midair.

The bar, simply called Bar 8, is an intimate and  glamor place given the dark woods and cascades of Lalique glass thrown like stardust across the walls. As all the other eating facilities, the bar spills out onto the courtyard. The centre piece is a sculptural bar made from a single block of Spanish marble  processed in workshops in Italy, located centrally, a common layout  in Jouin-Manku designers’ projects.
