The water cube is an amazing architectural building for swimming designed by consortium made up of PTW Architects, Arup international engineering group, CSCEC and CCDI of Shanghai.
It’s cubic form makes it so unique in the world, with was inspired from the natural formation of bubbles in soap lather, it has over 100,000 m² of ETFE pillows that are only 0.2 mm and it’s structure has a capacity of 17.000 of spectators.
I have to say that is 1 meter deeper than most Olympic pools and it also has perforated gutters on both sides to absorb the waves.
