During late October of 2010, the SHIFTboston recruited two teams to develop product proposals for the U.S. Green Building Council Urban Tree Competition, to develop an alternative to natural trees with a tree functions to benefit the city of Boston or any city in the world.Boston Treepods were designed by a team from Paris, France, who were selected by SHIFTboston for their exceptional innovative conceptual design ability.Boston Treepods were designed by a team from Paris, France, who were selected by SHIFTboston for their exceptional innovative conceptual design ability. Mario Caceres and Christian Canonico, the Treepod designers, were finalists of several former SHIFTboston competitions.
