Beds come in many different sizes. One of the most popular is the queen size bed. While this may be the preferred choice of many sleepers, it doesn’t mean it is the right bed for everyone.
Queen size beds measure 60 inches in width and 80 inches in length. Of course, the bed frame purchased for the bed must be slightly larger. Queen beds come usually with a mattress, box spring and some sort of frame. Beds can also come with headboards and footboards although these parts are not required for assembly of the bed.

Before buying a queen bed, you might determine if it will fit properly within your bedroom. To know for sure, measure your bedroom. The bed should not be so large that it makes movement around the room rather difficult. A good rule of thumb is to leave anywhere from 18 to 24 inches of space surrounding the bed. Some people may even prefer a larger space in which to move. Not only consider the space for movement but other tasks you might need to complete to maintain the bed. These tasks may include making the bed, changing the sheets and flipping the mattress.

Another thing you need to think about when deciding if a queen sized bed is right for you is to take into account the height of the tallest person who will b sleeping in the bed. Usually if the sleeper is over six feet tall, they will not have sweet dreams in a queen sized bed as it is simply too short. A bed should be approximately six inches longer than the tallest person sleeping in it. Also make sure the frame you get to support the queen sized bed is strong enough to support the weight of the people who will be sleeping in it.
