  • Photo Frames, a Great Way to Beautify Your Interiors

Photo Frames, a Great Way to Beautify Your Interiors

Although they have changed a lot since the traditional wooden pieces, photo frames are still among the most popular interior decoration items, adding style and personality to our home. Frames are used for framing paintings and photographs since ancient times and the art of making photo-frames have evolved into a craftsmanship. Nowadays, we find these timeless decorations available in a variaty of styles, shapes, sizes and colors to match any interior decor. Thinking that a house’s interior tells stories about people who live there, photo frames have an important role in creating these stories. They always add an extra unique touch to a display.

A right photo frame not only will keep the photo or the artwork in good condition for a longer period of time and make it easy to display, but also it will enhance its beauty making it unique and in the same time will nicely accessorize our room. Whether they capture beautiful and special moments of our life, or they reminds us of less pleasant or less happy moments, or on the contrary they show great artwork which means something for us, our pictures represents our invaluable memories that shape our past, present and future dreams. The changing technology of the 21st century has brought a lot of changes transforming the traditional photo frames in digital ones, when you don’t have to print anymore your pictures to display them. Many of our memories never see the light of the day or bask in the admiring stares of family and friends because they are staying cooped up on tiny memory cards in most of the time, so you should consider to personalize your home arrangements by getting them out of your camera and put into the spotlight those you constantly want to remember.

The frame you choose must complement both the piece within and the exterior background. Photo frames’ style should match perfectly the wall and the interior design of the room, whilst its size and shape should balance the work it surrounds. For example, if your room is decorated in a vintage design style or has a classic decor, vintage photo frames can be the perfect choice creating an elegant and sophisticated setting. You can use your imagination and tell true stories with your pictures by creating a collage effect with a themed grouping of table top or wall photos. Be as creative as you want and use frames not only for photos and paintings, but also for anything you want such as our child’s artwork, a dried flower, a piece of ribbon, a lace doily, etc. Hope this short post gives you ideas on how to improve your home decor and make you think what pictures worth to get out of your camera.

  • How to Achieve the Perfect Shaker Kitchen Look

How to Achieve the Perfect Shaker Kitchen Look

If the kitchen is the heart of the home, then you’ll want to make yours look like it was chosen with love – in which case you should look no further than a Shaker kitchen. Understated, subtle elegance that also packs an arresting impact is one of the hallmarks of a Shaker kitchen, the original style of which is a legacy of 18th century English carpenters who took their skills across the pond to America.
It is now possible to get the traditional Shaker look, but with contemporary touches and modern twists. This creates stunning kitchen suites in which the old meets new, accompanied by up-to-the-minute appliances and accessories. Read on for more detailed descriptions of fitted Shaker kitchens.

    Traditional looks

The Shaker Classic Ivory – also available in Oak – exudes a timeless and classic elegance. Classic Ivory and Oak and Georgian Ivory and Oak give you the best of both these stylish worlds, with pure white and glass-fronted cabinets, plus quaint parquet flooring. If you wish to go for all-out traditional, you will be happiest with the colour-burst and bespoke handsomeness of the Arts & Crafts kitchen, which incorporates the quintessentially British elements of traditional craftsmanship with romantic touches that the style is named for. Milford Ivory offers a classic beauty with curved cabinets beneath the central island and Edwardian tap faucets.

    Modern styles

The Shaker Classic is a modern masterpiece, with its heavy-duty granite worktops and oak finish. Contrasting in tone but equally up-to-the-second modern are Fusion Ivory and Fusion White, both of which featuring dazzling minimalist units and sleek integration of appliances. These kitchens have a high-gloss finish without ever being cold, offering a warm space for conviviality at the centre of any modern home.

    Hybrid styles

    photo@whallwood

Combining the understated but substantial elegance of the more traditional kitchen and the spare chic of the minimalist designs, there are several Shaker kitchens that can offer you the best of everything. The Shaker Twist is bright and warm with subtly chamfered panels. Washington Cream has deep sinks and tough surfaces – a kitchen for serious cooks – while also displaying a modern and welcoming style for your eager diners to relax in. The Washington Ivory Country features facsimiles of the White House portico columns incorporated in its design, bringing a touch of Americana to an otherwise traditionally British-style kitchen.

    Integrated appliances

Essential for a modern kitchen, and invaluable in terms of maximising space, is the integrated appliance. Shaker offer not only integrated hobs, but also built-in ovens, fridges, freezers and dishwashers. For that extra touch of luxury and nod to the good life, there are built-in wine coolers and coffee makers – which even include a frothing nozzle for home-made cappuccinos.
