  • Graffiti Cafe, a Concept of Leisure with Unique Contemporary Design in Varna, Bulgaria

Graffiti Cafe, a Concept of Leisure with Unique Contemporary Design in Varna, Bulgaria

Life is more beautiful if occasionally we take the time to enjoy life’s little pleasures like meeting with good friends and taste a cup of coffee while listening to music in a unique atmosphere like seems to be from these pictures. We stumbled across this gorgeous leisure destination in Varna, Bulgaria and decided to share with you guys, because we love its original-looking design and flawless execution. It’s called Graffiti Cafe and is part of a four-story, chic boutique hotel, along with a gallery of modern art, restaurant and nightclub. Despite its suggestive name, Graffiti, the beautiful place doesn’t have a hint of graffiti anywhere.

    Unique-concept-of-restaurant

Aiming to be a natural continuation of the hotel’s modern and impactful aesthetic, the Graffiti Cafe’s exterior and interior designed by Studio MODE feature a unique contemporary design with a strong visual identity inspired by the work of Escher, artist known for his impossible woodcuts constructions which explored the infinite in the ceiling and pillars. Large and all white with black accents and a sufficient dose of artistry intentionally making reference to the Gallery of Modern Art situated on the next level of the building, the trendy coffee house is a great mixture of carved wood with modern furniture and pristine splendor. Details of the street styling, artificial emotion and art forms inspired by natural materials impress the visitor’s eyes, being ready anytime to keep you company. Therefore it’s not surprising that such great concept is the winner of Restaurant and Bar Design Awards in the European International an overall bar category.

To satisfy all technological and functional requirements, the designers split up the area into two zones: the front zone was incorporated into the exterior for an open affect, creating public space and feeling of console silhouette of the building; the rear zone was separated through floor and roof design that allowed reducing depth of space while keeping the cafe’s beautiful panorama. The linear elements that begin on the curvy pillars and continue onto the ceiling are extraordinary and it’s clearly that help create a cohesive environment, that really accentuates the sleek modern design of the all-white interior. The geometric floor tiles are amazing, mimicking the three-dimensional wall treatment on the back wall that create a sense of depth. To add a more natural touch, they dispersed greenery throughout. Enjoy the photos!

  • Modern Office Space in the Middle of the Nature by Selgas Cano

Modern Office Space in the Middle of the Nature by Selgas Cano

What would you say if you had your office located in the woods? We bet it would be an interesting experience and the idea of working in the middle of the nature is certainly an unconventional office design approach. Spanish architecture firm Selgas Cano is responsible for this creative office space, which is in fact their own architecture office situated amongst downtown Madrid’s trees.

Its exterior appears as a long and narrow tube like structure with half of it opaque to ensure privacy and with a huge window on the other half, that makes you feel a part of the nature, while flood the office space with natural light from the surrounding landscape. Looking at these pictures, the view is fantastic whether you’re inside or outside. The building which is almost underground built features an extremely minimalist design inside. Vibrant lime, yellow and orange touches contrast with the dominant interior color, white, giving a fresh and appealing look. Enjoy the photos!

  • Spectacular Modern Residence Incorporating Amazing Pool Design

Spectacular Modern Residence Incorporating Amazing Pool Design

A 457 m2 modern residence located in an exclusive waterfront Buenos Aires neighborhood with privileged views of sky and lagoon, that integrates two amazing pools is for sure a dream house for anyone with a passion for swimming, not only for the owner of this permanent home. Characterized by minimalist elegance, the Pool House inspires extravagant modern living, taking the client’s love for swimming to another level.

    L-shaped-house

Envisioned by Vanguard Architects, the sleek retreat features an angular architecture, designed as an inverted L layout in order to accomplish the main owner’s desire of having wider perspectives at the rear of the land, to the vast lagoon. This geometry allowed as well to create a long path towards the entrance of the residence, where both pedestrian and vehicle access is possible. In front of it, there are aligned the garages, the service rooms (laundry, pantry), a study room, one bedroom, one bathroom and a barbecue area. The main entrance is revealed by a sleek steel bar in a façade of wood, concrete and glass. The architects used Kiri wood tinged with a darker tone and placed it as cladding of a brick wall and concrete structure, which is connected to the ground of the house.

    Contemporary-living-room

Inside, a series of open spaces were created, strongly connected with the magnificent surrounding environment. Thus, every room is positioned to embrace the beautiful view of the lagoon, being flooded with natural light thanks to the façade of clear, translucent glass. The social areas (the kitchen, the dining room, the gallery and the living room) are placed on the ground floor from the access hall around an inner yard showcasing stylish contemporary design in a neutral color palette mixed up in visual harmony.

One of the main elements, which immediately draws attention is the large swimming pool that have an interior-exterior placement, which makes you think that it is one and the same, but in fact there are two separate pools, the continuity of them being only visual. The wonderful view of the lagoon can be seen  from the minimalist white kitchen as well. The upper floor is designed around the double-height space as well as the living room accommodating two full guest suites and a large office with sliding doors made for the owners’ work which opens to a balcony with splendid unobstructed vistas of neighboring properties and an endless sky.

  • Creative Armchair Inspired by the Volcanic Eruption for Original Interiors

Creative Armchair Inspired by the Volcanic Eruption for Original Interiors

Looking for genuine pieces of furniture with intriguing yet highly original design? Today, Keren Shiker‘s armchair, Volcano, drew our attention thanks to its eye-catching form, unusual for such an item, and bright colors combination. The Volcano armchair was inspired by a mesmerizing  and spectacular natural phenomenon, the volcanic eruption, its unconventional look mimicking the powerful features of a volcano when the hot eruptive lava is expelled from the volcanic fissure.

Soft sponge tubes in different colors “erupt” from a base built from a round wooden surface with holes, creating a unique and fresh sitting experience both in private or public spaces. The tubes are flexible enough to allow for various forms for sitting and lying according to your needs. You relax your body on this interesting armchair while  watching your favorite TV show, reading a good book or on the contrary, you can nestle in it to have a great play time with the kids, to share the experience with your partner or hang out with other friends. Volcano appears to us functional and quite comfortable, and its creative design could be integrated in a variety of contemporary arrangements, creating a strong visual effect. It’s available in different colors and sizes.

  • All White Magnificent House on the Cliff in Calpe, Spain

All White Magnificent House on the Cliff in Calpe, Spain

Just as its name suggests, the “House on the cliff” is a stunning modern residence designed by Valencia-based architecture firm Fran Silvestre Architects on a steep terrain in the known area of Calpe, Alicante, Spain, a unique resort, a place for tourism and recreation worthy of visiting. Surrounded by a staggering landscape, a backdrop of  rocky mountains and spectacular Mediterranean Sea views on the opposite, the house  is a charming secluded place for its inhabitants: they can enjoy fresh air,  take long walks, admire the sunset and the panoramic views, walking poles and disconnect from the busy city life.

    House-design-by-Fran-Silvestre-Arquitectos

Standing on the plot of  962,84 square metres,  the “House on the cliff” was cleverly adapted to the uneven terrain, its white monolithic concrete structure respecting the natural contours of the site. To minimize adjustments to the topography, architects designed the living spaces of the house spreaded over four floors. An infinity pool and a leisure large terrace are on the lowest level, while the upper volume accommodates the generously-sized bedrooms, living room, dining room and the kitchen. An interesting architectural detail is a functional outdoor stair, which not only allows the lucky residents to change levels, but also gives them the possibility contemplating the outstanding scenery.

The interior of the residence is very much connected to the exterior through floor to ceiling windows that offer extensive forest views in the living and dining areas. The passageway leading to the main entrance is carved within a space between the home and cliff enabling the rocky landscape to double as a backdrop to the bathroom and kitchen. Minimalist neutral furnishings embellish the sleek, modern interior, making it comfortable and inviting, while the use of this color palette inspires tranquility and harmony. A perfect place for a holiday retreat too. What do you think?
