Alkaline cleaners are efficient for cleaning restaurant floors as compared to acidic cleaners which remove rust, oxides, and scale from floors.

In the long run, some cleaning products may be containing detrimental chemicals to your flooring: it’s also good to consult a professional. In addition, always keep workplace floors dry by use of absorbent materials like floor mats, in a strategic place to remove soil and moisture from the shoe bottom.

Avoid keeping your desktop working surface free from paperwork. Place a file sorter or document tray on your desk for important documents you frequently use. Have a neatly labeled, well categorized and easily accessible cabinet to always get easy access to what you need.

  • 10 Basic Photography Tips for Instagrammers

10 Basic Photography Tips for Instagrammers

Instagram is one of the best social media platforms. I have to take the world by storm as masses join it. One of the reasons for its fame is it is a visual platform.

Every single day, Instagram received over 60 million photo updates. And this is not to add those who are being re-shared.

Instagram has revolutionized the Smartphone generation. For instance, iPhone was launched in 2007 as IG came into being three years later. Since then, more and more Smartphones have come up to improve photo taking.

People are taking photos every day to post on Instagram. This mobile application keeps getting better by the day.

And if you are looking to join the community, then you are in the right place. Photography, in this case, is not just about taking photos but doing it right. Here are a few things to put in mind.

    Start with proper planning

Have you ever seen how filmmakers plan their work? Digital shooting takes a lot of planning and precision. In the same ways, capturing Instagram photos requires proper planning.

On very rare occasions will you find happy accidents. But that only happens in very few instances. But you need to put yourself in the best position to capture the most wonderful photo.

Start with location scouting. You will also have to experiment on different angles, course, planning around light and so on until you have the perfect photo. These are all important for the photos.

In the end, you may have to edit on a website that enables you add value to the photo or using any tool you want. But that only comes later when you have planned properly.

You need to understand what you are using the photo for. If you are taking the photos for brand awareness, you need to understand where the company is going.

Take as many photos as possible

It is true you will have to retouch your photos with a great app, it is still a good idea to take lots of photos at once. Instagram gives you an opportunity to share as many photos as you want. It does not have to be just one.

You can even show throughout the day. That perfect photo comes when you least expect. You get a bigger chance when you sit down to edit them.

With the right phone type, you should be able to capture some of the most amazing moments in your life.

Don’t focus on shooting in the in IG App only

Using the native camera on the iPhone or Android phone allows easy access to them on the home screen. The Instagram App is too but does not entirely depend on it. You need enough space to edit photos without worrying about going offline or anything like that.

The Instagram camera gives you only one shot. But you should know having control over how you take your pictures gives you more power.

The native phone camera on the other hands lets you focus and select what to expose on your frame. You can choose low light or high light. You can shoot many photos and pick out the ones you want to edit.

Take at the right time of the day

Smartphone Cameras perform better in well-lit spaces. Using Cortex Cam may be great in dark spaces.

You will need to program your day properly so that the light gets you at the right time. Apply the Golden hour blue hour rule because that will give you the best moments of your life.

The evening is the best time to take your images. You can get perfect light to brighten up your face on the camera.

    Take horizontal pictures

Holding the phone horizontally is just like using SLR. It does not require a lot of effort. We all use editing apps to make our photos better.

Taking the photos like this gives you a chance to edit later. You can crop, resize and do anything else with your picture.

    Use editing apps

Editing Apps have become so popular today. Now even the most professional photographer use them to make their photos more presentable. You can edit on-website with TouchRetouch editing tool.

    Other apps include:

    • Snapseed
    • Anticrop
    • Afterlight
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • And many more.

    Keep hashtags specific and creative

It is only when you use hashtags correctly that they make sense. They are part of the Instagram creative and fun community.

It is better to use one and use it correctly that use too many and wrongly. Using too much of these will not get you many people watching as you would love.

    IG is about community

The real power of Instagram lies in the whole body of a community. Events like Instameet and other events are used to connect larger IG community. You can even organize yours.

And with these tips, your photographs will be receiving many views and likes. You will not struggle to grow your account.

  • Mistakes You Will Avoid by Forgoing DIY Pedicure

Mistakes You Will Avoid by Forgoing DIY Pedicure

Pretty much every other girl is bound to make one or two or more mistakes when doing DIY pedicures. Face it. Doing your nails by yourself at home isn’t as easy as it may sound to some people. Don’t believe me? How about you try it out and see for yourself. Mastering how to DIY pedicures from home is no easy feat.  First, you will not have the recommended Pedicure Chairs that are used when one is getting a pedicure. If anything, pedicures involve much more than what many people perceive as treating your nails.

Remember, you are looking to get some seriously smooth and relaxed gorgeous-looking nails after all the work is done. All the more reason why you must pay close attention to these common mistakes that are more likely to land you and your nails in hot soup.

Steer clear of these pedicure mistakes at all costs

    Shaking the nail polish bottle

Shaking your nail polish bottle is a NO-NO mustn’t do rule when it comes to DIY pedicures. Or any other pedicures for that matter. When you shake your nail polish bottles, you are more likely to create air bubbles in your nail polish. These air bubbles can also end up on your DIYed nails and look nothing like you had imagined. To prepare your nail polish, you can roll your nail polish bottle gently between your flat hands to get the polish inside the bottle moving.

    Painting over your cuticles

As if cutting your cuticles wasn’t bad enough, you go on ahead and paint over them too. As if you couldn’t make your pedicure day any worse. There may be no health risk to painting your cuticles. However, choosing to do so kind of makes your whole pedicure job look sloppy. But if you accidentally polish one or two cuticles while working, then you can always polish them using a Q-tip that’s dipped in nail polish remover. That ought to give it a quick fix.

    Exfoliating with dry feet

This is yet another silly mistake many girls make when DIYing their pedicures. Sloughing off dead, dry skin before wetting the area first. If anything, doing this can end up doing more harm than good. It’s not like you just roll back in one of those sassy-looking Pedicure Chairs and start sloughing off dry skin and hope that everything will be alright at the end of the day. Instead, wet your feet first by soaking them in warm water for a few minutes. 10 to 15 minutes in warm water is perfect. Afterward, you can use a gentle foot scrub or pumice stone to remove the dry skin with ease.

    Applying a thick polish layer

As tempting as it sounds to want to polish a thick layer of polish, don’t. Even though thick polish layers ensure you get the color you actually see on the polish bottle, it can also work great to your disadvantage. In that thick nail polish are also more prone to chipping. So, instead of applying the thickest nail polish you can, apply two to three thin layers. However, it is wise to let each of the nail polish layers dry out first before you apply the next layer/s. You can wait for between two to three minutes.

    Using quick-dry products

Okay, so quick-dry products can help save you some major drying times especially if you are in a hurry. However, these products can also wreak havoc on your nails. Quick-dry products not only dry your polish, but they can also dry out your nails as well. Instead, how about you try running your nails under cold running water. Doing this helps set your polish in place as well.

Storing nail polish in the bathroom

Girls are more prone to make this mistake. Keeping your pedicure basics in the bathroom might seem like a logical idea. But it’s actually one of the worst environments to keep your nail polish. For one, the hot, steamy air from your shower work to separate the pigments in your nail polish. This can eventually cause your nail polish to thicken and become gelatinous. Instead, try and store your nail polish in cool, dry places. Most Pedicure Chairs now come with pouches and pockets where you can store some of your pedicure items. You can start there.

Applying nail polish immediately after soaking your feet

Again, many females, out of excitement I guess, tend to be very impatient and can’t always seem to wait for their just soaked, wet feet to dry before applying nail polish. However, even the pedicure experts advise that you must give your toenails ample time to dry out completely before you go on a painting plunge. Your nails absorb moisture when soaked in water. When this happens, they slightly expand and start to shrink as they dry. So, if you apply your nail polish when they are still wet, you could end up messing your whole DIY pedicure. It is, therefore, best that you wait at least ten minutes after soaking your feet before you apply your polish.

    Skipping base and top coats

Skipping a base or top coat might also look like a time-saving step to skip, but it may not be a wise one. The base coat works to protect your nails from any harmful chemicals that are in the nail polish that might find its way into your nails. The base coat also helps to level your nails, so you have a smooth polish application. The top coat, on the other hand, helps to keep your nail polish put. Besides this, your top coat also helps to give your pedicure its ultimate shine. And that’s precisely what you want. Nobody wants to do their pedicure only to look at them after getting done and see dull-looking polish on their legs.

    Final thoughts

DIY pedicures can be fun if you do them right. But they can also be a disaster especially if you ignore following the right pedicure procedures to save on time. So, ensure you have ample time on your hands before you start your DIY pedicure. This will help keep you more focused on your pedicure and not want to rush it which is the primary reason why everything gets messed up.

  • All About Transporting Heavy Furniture to a New Locality

All About Transporting Heavy Furniture to a New Locality

It’s often tough to transfer your oversized furniture into your new apartment, especially when you haven’t relocated earlier. Dressers, cabinets, tables, and couches are among your oversized furniture. Besides being physically straining, it’s a thoroughly expensive and exhaustive process.

Know How to Go About Moving Your Heaviest Furniture:

    Measuring Your Furniture

Imagine a situation wherein you’re relocating to your new apartment. You may have the company of friends who can deliver the perfect couch up to the doorway. How would you feel if it doesn’t pass through the doorway? It’s for this reason that you must gain a fair measure of your furniture and door in advance. Once you have the right measurements, it will be easier for you to check out the possibility of such issues. You may even consider the prospect of hiring a professional moving service.

    Seeking Assistance from Friends

Many of your friends are bound to stand by you in the event of your relocation. Friends are there to extend support through thick and thin. Some of them may even possess a truck or a van. A free meal or a few beers is often all that you need to get them around. Likewise, you may even render assistance when it’s their time to move to a new location. It’s often considered safer and more comfortable to move a couch with the help of your friends than how you’d have done it on your own. If you don’t find any elevators in your building, your friends are bound to be of great assistance.

    Removing All That Is Possible

There are times when you ought to transport your old couch from the ancestral country home to your new apartment. You can remove the feet of these large couches very easily. All you need to do is to remove the screws and make it pass through doors and hallways very easily. You may remove the cushions and disassemble most parts of your furniture to ensure a smooth relocation. Few of your heavy cabinets and furniture come with easily removable drawers. You may even try the same with some of your dressers and beds.

    Wrapping All of Your Furniture

The walls of your new apartment may suffer scratches exerted by the sharp corners and edges of your cabinets, tables, and frames. You’ll need to pay for repairing these damages after you settle in. That’s why it’s essential that you make use of some bubble wrap or a blanket for covering the sharp corners and edges ahead of the move. It will help in protecting both the new walls as well as the valuables.

    Hiring Moving Professionals

Spending money in the right manner is necessary when the financial situation is not in your control. You must hire professional movers when you have money in your budget. There are times when you can segregate the various parts of your furniture and reassemble them after relocating. The professional moving services will help you dismantle large tables and couches alongside smaller things.

If you wish to have them by your side right from the very beginning, you must book them in advance. Before moving into a new apartment, you may read through a few moving experiences shared by others in your new locality. You must take both the positive and negative aspects into consideration and know the tricks of moving large furniture.

  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of xeriscaping versus traditional landscaping?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of xeriscaping versus traditional landscaping?

Xeriscaping is a unique landscaping technique. The term xeriscape was coined in 1978 by the Denver Water Department. Essentially, a xeriscape is a rock-based landscape that is designed to be drought-tolerant. Xeriscapes and traditional (grass-based) lawns differ greatly. There are several key advantages and disadvantages of each type of lawn.

Today we are going to look at the advantages and disadvantages each type of landscape has to offer so that you can make an informed decision on which type of landscape will work best for you.

Ready to get started? Let’s go…

    Xeriscaping- Advantages vs. Disadvantages

Xeriscaping is most common in water-restricted environments such as Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. However, a xeriscape can be created just about anywhere. So what are the main advantages and disadvantages of each?

    Advantages

According to WikiLawn’s assessment, the main advantage to xeriscaping is that xeriscapes are very low-maintenance. You won’t have to worry about cutting the lawn, fertilizing, aerating etc. The only maintenance you really have to worry about is keeping the weeds away.

Secondly, a xeriscape uses very little water and is largely drought-tolerant. This makes xeriscaping a hit in the midwest, regularly drought-stricken areas and for homeowners that want to keep their water bill low.

    Disadvantages

Xeriscapes can be expensive to install. Though the cost will differ greatly depending on the types of rock you want to use, and their availability in your location, in general the cost of installing a xeriscape is significantly higher than a traditional lawn.  Additionally, if you want to set up irrigation, you should do so beforehand as installing it after your xeriscape can be a hassle. These factors make the up-front cost of a xeriscape very high, and unaffordable for many people.

Another huge downside is you can’t exactly play sports or games on a stone based landscape, so your lawn may lose a lot of functionality. Finally, if you live in a neighborhood with a lot of trees, getting rid of leaf litter can be a nightmare in the fall. You can’t exactly use a rake on most xeriscapes, and a leaf blower can only remove so many leaves. Some leaves are bound to get stuck in between the rocks in your landscape. For many homeowners, this is a huge turnoff.

    Traditional Lawn- Advantages vs. Disadvantages

We all know the traditional grass lawn. That classic, lush, green grass that many Americans admire and love. These types of lawns have a long history, going back as early as the 12th century. During this time they were primarily used to play sports on, but the industrial revolution made it possible for nearly everyone to have a lawn of their own. However, there are certainly some downsides to this type of landscaping too. Let’s take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of the traditional lawn.

    Advantages

Perhaps one of the biggest upsides of the traditional grass-based lawn is that your lawn will maintain full functionality. Grass-based lawns are much better to hang out in with family and friends, especially if you like to play sports or games with your friends that involve the lawn. More importantly, these lawns are much more child-friendly than a xeriscape, and you won’t have to worry as much about a child hurting themselves on your lawn.

Furthermore, for those that prefer a vibrant green lawn, there is no beating the traditional grass lawn. Best of all, for those concerned about finances (who isn’t), a grass-based lawn is much cheaper to install all around. Traditional lawns require little planing, minimal labor, and material costs are relatively low. Finally, many homeowners simply enjoy their grass-based lawns more, and enjoy maintaining their lawns as it is a great excuse to be outdoors.

    Disadvantages

One of the biggest disadvantages for the grass-based lawn is maintenance. A lot of maintenance. Although they are much cheaper to install, the maintenance they require greatly exceeds that of the xeriscape. It is certainly no secret that there is a lot of work involved to maintain a healthy grass-based lawn. From spring to fall, there are many tasks you must do to maintain the traditional lawn. Aerating, fertilizing, and most importantly mowing are only the beginning of maintaining a traditional lawn.

Additionally, the traditional lawn takes up a lot more water, and may simply not be an option for those that live in water-restricted areas.  The final downside of a grass-based lawn is that your lawn may not have grass during parts of the year depending on your climate.

    What’s the Verdict?

The type of lawn you decide is best for you depends a lot on your location, climate, budget and how you want to use your lawn. In some places having a traditional lawn is simply not an option, in others, it’s the only way to go. Whichever lawn you chose, be sure to consider the advantages and disadvantages of each before making a decision. If you make up your mind to install a  xeriscape, be sure to plan it correctly! Failing to properly plan your lawn, especially when xeriscaping can lead to major headaches down the road.

  • Should I Hire a Moving Company?

Should I Hire a Moving Company?

If you are about to move you may be feeling stressed out. There is a lot to it. Not only may you need to sell your current home, but you may need to purchase a new home in a completely different city. The entire process can be stressful and overwhelming.

That is why many people choose to hire a moving company. A moving company can help families and households pack up their items and move them to a new place. No matter if you need assistance with the entire pack, or you just need someone to carry the items into a truck and into your new home, the decision is yours. So, the question still remains, should I hire a moving company?

A cheap cross country moving company is going to answer that for you and tell you your options when it comes to moving. Keep reading to learn more.

The first option is simply to move yourself. Some of the pros of this are that you have complete control over everything. From how it is moved to when it is moved, the choice is yours. With that said, there are a lot of cons with it. If you find yourself throwing everything together last minute, you may feel even more stressed and overwhelmed. If anything were to happen to your items too, it’s your own fault. You have no one to blame but yourself. The final pro of moving yourself is that is cost less. Of course, it cost money to hire a moving company and depending how much you have, it can end up costing you more than you wanted to spend. If you do it yourself, you end up saving money.

With that said, there are many cons to hiring a moving company. Most of your items are most likely heavy. They require heavy lifting and some are oddly shaped and hard to move. Moving these items can cause you pain and even an injured back. If you have an injury, moving heavy boxes and objects is not a good idea and can lead to re-injuring yourself or lead to making your injury worse.

It also depends how much stuff you have. If it is just you in your apartment you may only require a moving company for your larger items, also to save time on not needing to rent a moving van for the day. If you are a large family however, the move can end up taking a very long time, especially packaging everything up. This is when a moving company would come in handy.

A moving company brings their tools with them. This means items like a trolly will be included with the moving company. If you are by yourself, you won’t have access to these items and may end up needing the purchase additional items just so your items leave your home safely.

Another benefit about hiring a moving company is that you can hire them for as long as you would like, you also can just hire them for a couple hours if you would prefer to do a lot of the packing yourself. Depending on your budget, you can plan to move parts of things yourself. For example, if you only want the company there for two hours, you could pack everything up yourself and just have the essentials and large items ready for the moving company to help with. With that said, if you just want it all taken care of so you can focus your attention elsewhere, you can ensure this happens too. A moving company can help you with the entire moving process including packing up. This can be so helpful and assist you in destressing.

Although it’s always nice to have friends that can help you move, they are not actually reliable. Perhaps they get sick or they bail on you last minute, you suddenly are stuck doing all the moving yourself. When you hire a moving company, as long as you are hiring a good and reliable company, they will be there on the day and time you already have arranged. This will put your mind as ease knowing help is on the way and it is coming for sure, unlike your friends.

As we stated before, this does not leave room for flexibility. If you only wanted the movers to help with the moving itself and not the packing, it’s critical that the packing has to be completely up until that point. You can’t be quite as flexible when you are working with a moving company, but many people need those deadlines so they work more efficiently and really do get things accomplished.

Did this help you to know if you should hire a moving company? Hiring one depends on many different situations. The first is cost. Do you have the money to hire a moving company, and if you do, what is your budget so you know how many hours you can hire them for? These are all important questions to think of at the start of your moving process.

Make sure you do your research so you hire a trustworthy moving company that has your best interests at heart. You will be so glad you hired a moving company and leave a piece of the stress elsewhere.

    Wonderful Facts About Mice

Mice infestation is a nightmare to homeowners, tenants, business owners especially restaurant operators; no food vendors want to be sanctioned by a health inspector. The fastest way to get rid of mice from your property is to hire the best mice control company near you. However, here are wonderful facts about mice you probably did not know:

Mouse infestation is common in the states, and they are more prevalent during winter. In fact, each winter, mice and other rodents invade more than 21 million homes in the United States alone. October all through to February are months that mice search for food and shelter away from the cold.

Mice have incredible appetites; do not let their body size fool you; mice eat on an average of 15 to 20 times a day! Their voracious appetites make them build their homes close to the food source. Do not be surprised if mice build their colony inside your rood, directly under the kitchen.

Mice are excellent jumpers, swimmers, and climbers; they can jump a foot into the air. Your kitchen counters or pantries are not safe if you have mice lurking around the house. However, you can prevent them from accessing your foods by locking them in hard, plastic containers and ensure to seal with tight lid.

There is probably no hole too small for these annoying rodents; as small as the size of a dime, mice can get into anywhere they want. Ensure to close cracks or other openings on the exterior of your home including utility pipes with caulk. In addition, fill holes and gaps inside your home with steel wool.

Their lifespan depends on where or the type of mice they are; mice mostly live for about five months in the wild, due to predators like snakes, foxes, and cats. However, a healthy pet mouse can live up to three years, while in a lab setting it can live up to two years.

Just like roaches, mice also spread germs; they spread diseases like Salmonella and Hantavirus. In addition, mice are capable of carrying as many as 200 human pathogens. It is the more reason to eliminate them as soon as possible when you notice their activities in your home.

Even though they are stealth in stealing food from your kitchen, mice are not potty-trained. Their trails of droppings are the first sign of their activities in your home. Furthermore, mice can litter the place with 40 to 100 droppings every day. They also give off micro-droplets of urine as they move around their territory. Now you know what is responsible for those liquid trails.

One female house mouse can reproduce a colony indirectly or directly within two months, she alone can give birth to 150 offspring in one year! Mice can have dozens of babies every three weeks. If you spot a mouse in your home, there is likely more where it came from; it is best to contact a professional pest control operator near you.
