Original House for Birds- Noe by Floriane Rousse-Marquet

Noe is a lovely and interesting house for birds imagined by young industrial designer Floriane Rousse-Marquet, a design project for which she received Bronze in 2010 at IDEA International Design Excellence Award. Fascinated by human behaviors and very interested to observ and study how people interacts with their surrounding objects, she comes up with significant design solutions to answer their daily complex problems. This original and attractive birhouse could be a simple, respectful and afordable solution to a visible and unwanted phenomenon that happens increasingly often: the migration of all kind of birds towards the cities because of the distruction of their natural habitat.

    Birdhouse-for-city-balconies

In the long run some of them are able to adapt to human world, but there are also many of them that don’t possess such adaptation capabilities, which together with other factors like precarious shelters, the attack of bigger birds and the inadequate food inevitably lead to their extinction. Noe wants to be shelter for city birds, which allows us to feed them, observe and protect them from balconies -a space that give citizen the opportunity of growing plants while take care of birds in the same time. Featuring an appealing curved shape with a neutral color to fade in nature and plants, Noe is lighweight, made of liquid wood and stackable, being delivered with climbing plants seeds which will act as a camouflage around it.

You can stick on a flower jar or hang up on the balcony thanks to its feet with a pointy end, which acts as well as a guide to the climbing plant. It’s made from two pieces to be more compact and features also to cavities, one on the bottom and one on the top of the object that allow the collection of the rainwater. In this way, you can recreate their ecological nests and accept their presence around your home – you might even find that you have a rare bird in your balcony, who knows?

Creative Lighting Design Inspired by The Nuclear Accident in Fukushima

Designers get inspired by lots of things, but have you ever heard of someone inspired by the disatruous nuclear accident in Fukushima? As far as we know, we haven’t seen before a lighting design or other product inspired by such situation. Meltdown lamp, envisioned by the talented young Swedish designer Johan Lindsten for the famous Italian brand Cappellini, wants to be something beautiful related to that period. Launched on January 2013, during the Imm Cologne fair, Meltdown confirms designer’s inclination for contemporary and avant-garde design. With a spherical form, its thin coloured glass, hand blown in a mold, reflects beautifully the light, creating a pleasant and delightful atmosphere.

The disaster is mirrored in this beautiful, distinctive ceiling lamp where the process already begun and the bulb are about to melt through the last protection of the glass. It can be used as a grape or in the liniar way, as you can see in these wonderful pictures, each one of the spherical glass having a diameter of 285 mm. Versatile and stylish, original-looking Meltdown can be used in various contemporary settings, adding an attractive industrial touch. Dove, pink, tobacco, light blue, amethyst and amber are the colors available for it.

So our smarthphone became over time our best friend every morning which wakes us up with our favourite songs. Maybe inspired by people like us who want to wake up hearing their favourite song, Sankalp Sinha imagined this creative product called singNshock wants to be an alarm clock with integrating music player with mmc slot and an optional electric shock pulse feature.

We’re not sure it’s a good way to start your day with an electric shock pulse, it sounds quite crazy, but we definitely love the idea of a music player within it especially because it allows you to store music up to 32gb so that you can enjoy your favourite music everyday. singNshock has a modern minimalist look with a touchscreen on one side and in-built high quality speakers on the other side. It can be used also as a decorative item at night thanks to its LED illuminated side glasses for dim lighting. On top, it has a large aluminum coated  button that once you press it in order to stop the alarm, it conducts an electric shock pulse of micro- volts triggering neurological functions. You can choose from six color options according to your taste or needs.

  • Futuristic Lighting Design to be Eco-friendly Indoor and Outdoor

Futuristic Lighting Design to be Eco-friendly Indoor and Outdoor

Whether it’s still at the concept stage or is already produced, this project is amazing and attention-grabbing, especially for those who love futuristic concepts as well as eco-friendly designs. Found on Behance, this lighting design was envisioned by Italian Architectural Studio – D’ARC. STUDIO – featuring some surprising characteristics for a lamp, along with a shape worth of SF movies.

The only biological process, the chlorophyllous photosynthesis, that utilize the Sun power and turn sunlight energy in nourishment for the Earth, the admiration of natural cycle that allows the Life on Earth and a careful observation of Nature itself were the inspirational sources for this impressive lighting system, by far the most ambitious lamp ceoncept ever imagined.

    Sinthesya-Eco-light-by-D'ARC-STUDIO-03

Every detail makes the Sinthesya Eco Light unique, from its shape inspired by a plant earth-linked with strong roots, fotovoltaic panels on headtop, low energy LED lights to customizable waterproof material to fit perfectly both indoor and outdoor.  The curvaceous silhouette features at one end a leaf-shaped head with high-efficiency fotovoltaic flexible panels that has the function to catch sunbeams and turn them in the lower side with ten LED lights, which allows users to adjust the intensity of lightfrom a soft-touch dimmer, and at the other end an adjustable base with integrated electrical plug to be used only in emergency situations, with a long winding stem, balanced by long lasting eco-battery cells.

Sinthesya Eco Light can be oriented in all directions, also very close to sun (a recharge mode) thanks to the double joint between stem and leaf. Designed as we said before with the idea of using indoors as well as outdoors, the lamp is made also of ecological materials, so all the shells for both base, head and stem are in recycled ABS (silicone rubber) with different customizable colors to adapt any modern interior design.

    Ecogadget-with-friendly face-by-Ah&Oh-Studio-01

Inspired by urban vinyl toy culture, it looks like a funny creature with a kid-friendly shape that has two large antennas featuring built-in motion sensors on their top, a Timer and a detachable power cord in order to be used with various types of plugs. All you have to do is to turn it on, connect it to other devices you want to use that day and put the little guy on a shelf.
