FIVE JAPANDI GARDEN LANDSCAPES TO INSPIRE YOUR BACKYARD REFRESH

The simple elements that the Japandi aesthetics cater to, can turn your backyard into a calming retreat. There is something so innately profund about mixing Japanese designs with Scandinavian overtones, which have given many modern home gardens a soothing and serene ambiance.

Photo by Brett Sayles from Pexels

Here are a few inspirations that will hopefully add a Japandi garden landscape to turn your backyard into a visual treat

    Choose materials that lend character

Photo by Kindel Media from Pexels

The Japandi design heavily prioritizes functionality in all its areas, and the backyard is no exception. A bit of wear and tear will add charm and infuse some character in your outdoor space, which is totally in line with Japandi principles. To achieve this work in natural stone and use wooden stairs for access throughout the area. While any hardwood in particular is aesthetic, to create depth and interest when incorporating Japandi design, try using teak outdoor furniture by Neighbor

    Get creative with water

Water-arguably the single most important element in Japandi inspired landscape can be manipulated to hide all environmental dilemmas. It can conceal unwanted noise from beyond the backyard boundaries and the thick carpet of grass will easily absorb any excess moisture and harmful air pollution. The pond is a focal point in the backyard and is more of a functional feature rather than a decorative one that’s the reason why you need to think about aerating your pond to make it more safety away from building algae and become eco-friendly. A small bridge can be a symbolic structure, representing the connection between nature and humanity.

    Pick the right plants

To make your backyard reflect like a functioning ecosystem, pick the right variegated foliage. Willow, black or Swiss mountain pines and Japanese maples are the appropriate plants to use in Japandi landscaping, but there is no need to overdo it. A few red-leaved plants, typically at focal points, should do the trick. Seasonal color in Japanese backyards comes from flag iris, cameo and peony. Moss is also seen in the landscaping, especially clinging to stones and rocks. However, it needs misty air to survive, and one should check the growing conditions first.

    Characteristic features

Apart from water, Japandi landscapes are characterized by their natural guardian-stone. The selection and effective layout of the stones is of prime consideration in landscaping. In modern Japanese backyards, flowers are few and evergreen popular, as simplicity, restraint and consistency is the aim and not pomp and gaiety. While maples are preferred, evergreen foliage is more often used. Gateways and fences should screen certain portions and harmonize with the architectural features of the home.

    Backyard decor

In Japandi landscaping, Zen Buddhism plays an important role as all the decorative element used are related to it. Even if you do not practice this religion, infusing a Zen garden landscape can instill a sense of peace and harmony into your backyard. Statues of Lord Buddha or other Japanese symbols like dragons and pagodas can be placed to give the place an authentic touch.

    Paving styles

The most common paving style used as walkways in Zen backyards is the distinctive raked gravel path. Other possibilities are natural stone pavers, which are laid in such a way to make the path look natural and blend with the landscape.

    Rocks

Stone features and rocks form a very important element of Japandi style landscaping. In traditional backyards, figures of animals or mythological creatures are often chosen for their design and shape to create visual impact.

    Fencing

A unique style of handmade fencing, using a special knot, is a traditional feature for the Japandi style backyard. Made from bamboo or natural grass, these fences are sometimes painted red, a color associated by the Japanese with good fortune. Moreover, they are designed in such a way as to totally merge with the surroundings.

Why replace your windows in summer season?

Photo by Expect Best from Pexels

It is kind of a big move, but you will be thankful of introducing this to you. These tasks usually get more attention than the others but there is a solid reason behind them. Everyone wants to enjoy the summer season and all those people who got big villas certainly know how to welcome the summer season. If you have a small house, you shouldn’t be worried, you can replace the windows as you do other remodeling or home improvement projects. But what replacement window is the best

Photo by Max Vakhtbovych from Pexels

The answer to this question can vary depending on one’s personal choice. But there are some known facts that can make new windows ideal for the summer season. For instance, if your home was built 15 years ago, it might be a good idea to replace windows now because outdated windows are not going to work this summer. But at the same time, you would want something that will add value to your house.

Here we will be discussing 2 main reasons why replacing windows is beneficial for you.

Photo by Max Vakhtbovych from Pexels

    1. Great for hot and humid weather

Windows are a way in for the air, so they have to be updated and clean. These are really essential for summer. Winter is not the season to open the windows, but it is nice to have an airy vibe into the room in summer. Windows should always have a close or open option, this way when it is raining outside, you can keep it closed. When the weather is normal and windy. Keep them open so the air can come inside the house. So, if you are looking to replace windows, summer is the ideal time to do it. During the replacement, you don’t have to worry about the cold breeze freezing you. Consider sunny, warm days of summer for the replacement and installation of new windows.

Photo by Max Vakhtbovych from Pexels

    2. New windows can lower your cooling cost

Keeping the house cool during hot weather can be very challenging. But it is a necessity that we all have to bear even if it does put a strain on our budget, fortunately the kellywindowanddoor.com offers more details to save our budget. But this is because the windows are single pane. With single glass, the hot UV rays can come inside the house but if you want to replace windows, be sure to go with the energy-efficient windows. Energy-efficient windows will make the UV rays reflect and make the windows to get less warm and eventually the house will emit less heat. These windows have argon gas-filled panes that reduce heat transfer through the glass. This way your new windows can lower your cooling cost.

You might still be needing air conditioning, but the electricity bill will be reduced due to less energy consumption.

Mistakes to Avoid During the ‘Sell My House for Cash’ Process

Selling a house for cash in Canada, the USA, or any other part of the world is a lengthy and overwhelming process, especially for those who are doing it for the first time.

Photo by George Desipris from StockSnap

It is also emotionally straining for the entire family to part with a home they have known for years. But if you are determined to, you can make the ‘sell my house for cash’ process fruitful by avoiding costly mistakes that many home sellers make.

You most likely need a professional to take you through this process to make it faster, less demanding, and scoop a good profit from it. Without further ado, let us dive into the common mistakes to avoid when selling a house for cash.

Photo by Jay Mantri from StockSnap

Failure to Set the Right Price

The real estate industry is growing fast across the world. People are heavily buying and selling homes. This means there is the existing market price for current houses. If you plan to ‘sell my house for cash’ fast, then you cannot afford to have the wrong price for your house.

By wrong, we mean either too low or too high. There are a few ways to know the right price to ask for your house: do a home valuation and compare your home with other similar homes in your area.

Expecting to Close a Sale with the Asking Price

Even though you may have set the right market price for your house, expecting to close a deal at that price during the ‘sell my house for cash’ process could lead to a big disappointment. Smart home buyers are good negotiators, and if you want to close the deal, you will have to compromise a little.

While setting the asking price, strike a balance between a price that will attract buyers while leaving room for negotiations. Bear in mind that cash buyers negotiate a lot.

Photo by LinkedIn Sales Navigator from StockSnap

    Failure to Hire an Agent

The ‘sell my house for cash’ process will be a lot easier when you have an agent by your side. The majority of home sellers and buyers in Canada and other parts of the world seek the services of real estate agents to make the process smooth. Well, you can do it without one, but the chances of making costly mistakes are high.

Reputable agents have a ready market for your house, they advise on what should be done to sell it fast, and they are also great negotiators. So, plan to hire one.

    Selling at the Wrong Time

Although no one knows when the need to sell a house will come, having the right timing will make the ‘sell my house for cash’ process easier and profitable. If possible, avoid selling during winter or festive seasons when people just want to stay indoors. Additionally, pandemic season such as COVID-19 is not really the best time. But if you have an experienced agent, then you will get all the necessary help to make an urgent cash sale.

The best time to sell is during summer and when there is high demand. It is easy to find such time through results and consultation with the right experts. So, take notes.

Failure to Market Your House Properly

Making a good home sale is always a result of good marketing. The process starts as soon as you declare to sell. If you are a first-timer, knowing the right marketing strategy could be a bit hectic unless you have a professional to take you through or the right information to help you with this.

To avoid this mistake, here are the tips: market on social media, property websites, and streaming platforms, upload clear photos covering all areas of the house, and spread the information through word of the mouth to all of your friends.

Photo by Kristin Hardwick from StockSnap

    Hiding Problems with the House

If you want to have a successful ‘sell my house for cash’ process, then you need to deal with all the problems earl such as disputes with the previous owner, boundary disputes with neighbors, leaking problems, and others. If any problem is not yet solved during the sale, it is ethical to disclose it to the buyers, even though it may make them shy away from buying the property.

    Conclusion

So, now you know the mistakes to avoid during the ‘sell my house for cash’ process. The good thing is that all of these mistakes can be avoided by doing the right thing. So, take notes so that your sale will be very smooth.

  • What is Temperature-Controlled Freight Shipping?

    What is Temperature-Controlled Freight Shipping?

Temperature-controlled freight shipping is used for foods, medications, and chemicals that require a limited range of temperature exposure.

Photo by Miki Czetti from StockSnap

Generally, the products that require temperature control may need to be kept at or near freezing and require cooling. However, reefer trucks may also be needed to keep things warmer than exterior temperatures.

    Product Protection

As explained by the experts at Hale Trailer, refrigerated trailers for sale are available in a wide variety of sizes and offer many access options. When planning out your shipping process, make sure you carefully review the interior dimensions to better plan your layout and access. A cold truck will likely have a higher level of humidity than can be found in a standard dry trailer, so packaging considerations to reduce the impact of that humidity will need to be managed by the manufacturer or producer.

    Consider a Temperature Controlled Dock

Moving a product from a refrigerated storage container to a truck could be risky if the dock is not also protected. Keeping things cold means keeping things fresh; allowing the temperature to warm up and then cooling the product back down can lead to spoilage.

The responsibility of keeping doors closed for as long as possible, even when unloading on a refrigerated dock, is on the driver. To properly control your product and protect the freshness of the items,

    • a refrigerated truck
    • a temperature-controlled dock, and
    • an efficient schedule

will go a long way to getting your product delivered on time and in good shape.

    Renting Vs. Buying

Renting a trailer may be your only option when you start out. Renting from a reputable organization will reduce a lot of your worries and concerns, but buying a trailer will put you in more control of your shipping dates and availability.

Reefer trucks have particular risks, and the product that’s being hauled tends to be more fragile. Owning your trailer means that your particular

    • temperature settings
    • cleaning requirements
    • moisture management

can be specifically managed for your needs and nobody else’s. If your industry is dairy, using a truck that’s been used for seafood may not be your best option. Your packaging choices can help, but owning your truck means that it hauls only your product and the air system inside the truck is moving air that won’t be problematic.

    Security Concerns

If you’re shipping items that are pharmaceutical products, temperature control considerations are critical. Keeping your product on schedule and safely stored becomes more critical depending on what you’re shipping. Vaccines and insulin have temperature requirements; many medications can be severely damaged by exposure to too much heat and moisture.

Photo by Blake Richard Verdoorn from StockSnap

Make sure that what you’re shipping arrives in good shape. From fresh milk to cold strawberries, your shipping logistics choices will be easier to manage once you own your truck. Getting your trailer properly maintained on your schedule can make you a manufacturer to rely on, improve your business opportunities and increase your market share.

Few industries are experiencing as much rapid growth as vegan food. The global market for vegan food was worth $15.4 billion in 2020, and it’s expected to reach the $26.1 billion mark by 2026.

Photo by LinkedIn Sales Navigator from StockSnap

With so much growth potential, today is the best time to grow your business with digital vegan advertising strategies.

But what does it take to build a brand that’s unique in a competitive vegan market?

Here’s a deep dive into digital marketing and how to build an attention-grabbing, impactful business in the vegan niche.

Photo by Wilfred Iven from StockSnap

    Understanding vegan digital marketing

Digital marketing for your vegan business uses multiple online techniques for marketing online to promote your products or services. Vegan digital marketing is useful for attracting, engaging, and even converting prospecting clients via social media, search engines, websites, and email.

This form of marketing increases traffic to your business’ website while strengthening the brand’s digital presence. Digital marketing puts your business on the online map.

With over 1.8 billion websites live a minute, the chances of your prospective customers stumbling upon your online vegan website are slim.

If you have incredible vegan services or products, word will eventually get out through word of mouth. However, the process is slow and people are likely to forget about you when a competitor is more visible than yourself.

An effective digital vegan advertising strategy makes sure your brand is visible and easy to find. Apart from more website visitors, you also get your ideal clients for more conversions!

    How? A dedicated SEO plan.

How to improve SEO for your vegan business

Having a business website and not optimizing it will not do you any good.

Your website should be responsive, have the ideal feel and look, and communicate your brand’s story. Plus, you need to optimize it for search engines.

If you are on page 10 of Google web results, prospective clients will never find you. After all, 75 percent of online searchers never scroll past the first page of Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs)!

Here’s a step-by-step look at how you can optimize your vegan website for SEO and improve ranking on Google vegan results.

    PROFILE YOUR IDEAL CUSTOMER

The first step to building a solid SEO plan for your vegan business is knowing your audience.  Are you a wrongful death lawyer focused on service or is your audience more focused on e-commerce?

Unless you have the profile of your ideal buyer, you will end up wasting lots of resources on wrong targeting. This step involves meeting your customers up close and asking them relevant questions. You can also send a survey form to current customers to understand their pain points.

Other sources of information on the vegan customer include:

    • Social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter
    • Online vegan communities

    Carry out an SEO audit

A complete SEO audit is another step. Create a Google search console profile and add your site there. An expert from a local SEO company can guide you through the process.

The console provides you with an idea of whether your business’ site is Google indexed. If it is not indexed, you must manually submit your web page. The SEO expert then runs an analysis of your page visibility, score, and critical errors that you need to eliminate.

    A thorough keyword analysis

A critical component of the Vegan SEO strategy.

A keyword is a word or combination of words that users type into Google’s search bar to look for a business like yours. So, identify the works people are likely using to find a business such as yours and create content based on the keywords. For example, if your brand is in the business of offering staffing services for vegan businesses, the keywords “vegan job ideas” may apply to those looking for a career change.

Thorough keyword analysis involves also identifying long-tail keywords to target. Next, research the search volume of the keywords you have identified above. Make sure you understand the Cost-per-Click (CPC) value to know how much competitors will pay to rank for the keywords using Google Ads—if they are paying, it is important!

A keyword analysis is one of the most critical services offered when you partner with professionals to do vegan SEO and marketing for you. This ensures that your brand is always relevant and in front of the ready-to-purchase online searchers.

    Have a content strategy

Use the keywords to create your content strategy.

    Some content strategies involve:

    • Becoming a guest blogger—If you know of a website that’s related to the vegan industry, and it has a better SEO score, there’s no shame in leveraging them by highlighting your content on the platform. Some sites will accept and others won’t. Ideally, you should feature on different channels and websites. If possible, putting a backlink will drive traffic to your business’ site.
    • Leverage the power of videos, social media, and podcasts—Make use of relevant channels available to establish an online presence. Find out what channels your competitors are using and be on them as well. Some ideas include creating how-to videos about your vegan services or products to establish your expertise.

Having great website SEO is like running a massive vegan outreach campaign on the streets to reach thousands of prospective customers. Unlike the physical outreach campaign, SEO has the potential to reach millions of people who are specifically looking for your services and products on the web.

Hire a professional vegan SEO company

A vegan SEO professional understands what your target audience wants.

Every detail in your digital marketing campaign matters. A vegan digital marketer breathes and lives just like your ideal buyer persona. Further, they are in a better position to come up with keywords that work for your products and services.

Other benefits of hiring a vegan SEO company are:

    • A better content strategy because of their understanding and experience with the vegan community. This also means better content ideas that include details such as sustainability that a non-vegan SEO company may overlook.
    • Vegan marketers are in a better position to skyrocket your business. Their sole purpose is to help vegan businesses achieve new heights by reaching a wider audience.

  • Three Simple Ideas That Will Give Your Home a New Lease of Life

Three Simple Ideas That Will Give Your Home a New Lease of Life

If you haven’t decorated in a long time, you may start to feel like your home is becoming old. If you don’t enjoy the atmosphere in your home, this is likely to make you feel sad, unhappy, and generally dissatisfied.

Image by Linda Dafnerot from Pixabay

Although you may feel this way, it isn’t always possible to completely redecorate even one room in your house – this could be due to cost or time constraints.

However, there are always ways to make the rooms in your home feel brand new and give them a new lease of life. The best part is that you don’t have to break the bank to achieve this.

In this article, we will cover three different cost-effective ideas but make a big difference to the look and feel of your home.

Photo by Max Vakhtbovych from Pexels

Painting a feature wall in your home

Painting a feature wall in your home is a compromise rather than painting an entire room. The latter is likely to be expensive, time-consuming, and challenging. Instead of repainting the whole room, you can pick one of the walls in your home and turn it into a feature wall.

First of all, you should clear everything from the wall you are working on to ensure you don’t damage or tarnish the furniture. Once you have done this, you can prepare the wall for painting. Before painting, prepping the wall will involve either stripping the wallpaper off the wall or removing the existing layer of paint from the surface using medium-grade sandpaper.

Once you have prepared the surface, you can use a small tin of paint and a paintbrush to give the wall a fresh coating in your desired color. Don’t be afraid of using a bold color on the wall; although it might feel outlandish as you are applying the coat, that is the point of a feature wall. It is supposed to stand out, and although it will seem drastic at first, the finished product will be a talking point for guests and will draw the eye as soon as anyone enters the room.

Not only does this give the room a new lease of life, it also distracts from any other signs of wear in the room that was previously discomforting.

    Replacing door and cupboard handles

Replacing the handles on doors and cupboards is an excellent tip for rejuvenating your home and is especially effective for your kitchen. Rather than replacing doors, or even entire storage units, you can replace the handles with new ones – perhaps even looking for a unique style of alternative color at the same time.

Photo by Tristan Paolo from Pexels

If you search online, you can pick up a complete set of door and cupboard handles for next to nothing, and fitting them on is also a breeze; you will need to unscrew the old ones and screw in the new ones. One tip is to remove one handle beforehand, check the measurement between the screw holes, and then make sure you order new handles with the same size gap between fittings.

Once you replace all the handles in your room – especially your kitchen – you will be pleasantly surprised with how much of a different feel the room will have. This can even give the illusion of the cupboards being entirely new. Once again, the new sparkly handles will draw the eye and detract from any other imperfections in the units themselves.

    Repainting your internal doors

Giving your internal doors a fresh coat of paint is slightly more complex but highly effective in sprucing up your home and can be done with minimal effort but have a positive effect throughout the entire house.

There are a few skills required to carry this out, namely that you need to remove the doors from their hinges and need somewhere to sand down and repaint the doors. If you have a garage with plenty of free space in it, that is the ideal location to carry out this work.

The good news is you can take off one door at a time to minimize the disruption, and you will find that as you repaint each door, the task gradually becomes more manageable.

You will need to prepare the surface of the door for painting – sanding down the door first, removing the existing coat of paint, and creating a smooth surface. Take your time with that stage as you will need to remove all of the current coating from the door; otherwise, you will see lumps and imperfections after applying the new coat of paint.

You can then apply the new paint to the door. You may need to use several coats of paint, allowing each one to dry thoroughly before applying the next coat.

Photo by Rachel Claire from Pexels

Allow the door to fully dry over 24 hours before re-hanging the door on its original hinges. If you feel confident in doing so, you can also remove the door handles before painting, but if you don’t want to do this, you can alternatively cover up the handles and other fixtures using masking tape.

The result should be doors that look brand new and completely change the look and feel throughout the house. Repainting all of the inside doors is much cheaper than replacing them, which would come with the cost of new doors and the cost of a professional fitter.
