Taken inspiration from unconventional solutions and employed innovative materials right from the beginning of his career, Mati Karmin, one of the best-known sculptors of Estonia, create furniture and home accessories made from Soviet submarines and naval mines. This mind blowing furniture is made entirely from recycled naval mines and submarines. They are converted by the Estonian sculptor in everything from chairs to desks, children carriages, fireplaces, bathroom, cabinets, beds. Bombs came into his possession some time ago from an old Soviet stronghold on the island Naissaar, near Finland. Although Karmin’s pieces of furniture are unusual and not very friendly looking, you must agree that they are indeed original and creative artpieces.
