New cutting-edge façade technology, extraordinary array of luxury shops and fine dining restaurants are the main defining elements that transforms Starhill Gallery into a new architectural icon for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The fabulous and innovative design that made from Starhill Gallery perfaps the Kuala Lumpur’s most iconic shopping mall belongs to the award-winning international architectural and design consultancy,  Spark Architects. The design proposal for reinventing this shopping center was based on changing the street façade of the existing building into an unique and amazing one that will stand out among the other shopping mall façades, replacing the café at the entrance of Starhill Gallery with an iconic triple height shopping pavilion for the French luxury retailer LVMH  and their cosmetics brand Sephora.

 

The new façade resembles the “wet drapery” of the ancient statues of Greece and Rome and sparkles with luxury: lightweight steel, stone panels and crystalline glass façade. It’s the first of their kind in Malaysia, giving it a new contemporary classic identity. During the day, the tinted panes gently reflect the sun while allowing natural light to filter in. At night, blue LED lights make the prisms glow from within, the shopping mall looks almost like an art installation. Due to the fantastic architectural design together with the high quality of the brands you can find there, the Starhill Gallery is affirming its position as the foremost destination for luxury shopping in Southeast Asia, making your visit an undeniable experience.
