It’s a piece of cake to change radically your room’s appearance or enhance it’s beauty. We are facing thousands of decorative wall solutions with most interesting, clever, hip and wonderful wallpapers, which sometimes makes quite hard to choose between so many, but for a final stunning look of our home, two elements are essential to consider: quality products and top design. Talking about quality products these modern days, when it’s a growing awarness on how to be more environmentally friendly, it means taking into consideration to pick wall coverings from makers that have a green approach in their manufacturing process. No wonder that, like any other home decor item on the market, wallpapers have joined the list that protects the environment from the ill-effects of plastic and other goods, knowing the fact that they can be problematic for our health since many of them out there are using toxic glues or are coated with PVC.

As a consequence, to meet users’ needs designers took wallpaper one step further and creating eco-chic range of wall coverings that support sustainable living. So, why are modern sustainable wallpapers are really innovative and a very good alternative to the ordinary ones? Because they are VOC-free (volatile organic compound), vinyl free,  printed with organic (water-based) inks on recycled and sustainable resources, and  include clay coatings that increase durability of these materials. The fact that they’re eco-friendly doesn’t mean of course they are less beautiful. Actually, they are as great as the normal ones with plenty of exciting and vibrating designs, but their benefits are to be taken into account:  no harmful chemicals used in them that affects us or the environment, so they are absolutely safe for kids too, they are extremely durable, easy to clean and maintain.

Furthermore, most of them have a polished glaze and finish which stays for long, if you take proper care of them. If you plan to change your interior decor, browse the Internet or buy home decor magazines to look for the eco-friendly latest designs, sizes and color available and you can feel the difference yourself. Inspired from nature,  “My Fluffy Friend’s Pet Shop” is infused with bright, bold colors, creating the feeling of fresh air as soon as you enter it. Modern, abstract interpretation of forms found in nature give an striking appearance:  in the middle of the front retail display space the big structural column was transformed into an artistic huge tree, whose branches are painted MDF rings suspended from the ceiling.; little mushroom shaped pegs on the desk top allowing dog owners to temporarily leash their pet, while they complete their transaction.

Painting cabinets isn’t an easy task, but not impossible. So first of all, you must analyze very well which is your kitchen design style, what predominant color scheme you have and also decide how you want to feel in your kitchen space. Thinking about all this stuff, you’ll be able to pick up the right color for your cabinetry and avoid making things worse then before. It’s very important to have a picture in mind of what will be the final result, so think twice, act once.

Another tip is to go to stores and get plenty of paint samples before choosing a final shade and compare them in your kitchen area with the other colors. Be aware that in most of the cases, for full coverage and best results, you should give at least two coats of paint. If you don’t want to create a dramatic contrast, don’t choose bold, vibrant hues when you already have this in your kitchen. Dark colors for example are known to absorb a lot of light, so using them for kitchens where it doesn’t exist to much sunshine, it isn’t the best choice to follow. Use instead lighter tones which will create a beautiful contrast with a dark floor, countertops or table. In generally, kitchen space should have warm appetizing colors and you should not be afraid to use a bright modern tone if your kitchen design allows you. If you’re really looking to have fun and get creative, it’s better to opt for a more subtle yellow, red, green or blue tone instead of their bold version. It will be a great result if such a color compliment other neutral and wood tones in the kitchen. For those families that love to cook and eat, stimulating shades of red, green, yellow are a great choice knowing the fact that they increase appetite and give a resonant, bright and optimistic air to your kitchen.

Blue, as a cool and calm color used in general for designing bathrooms, light shades are recommended to use in the kitchen area having a soothing effect. Blue color is said to decrease appetite and you can lose weight, while it enlarge the room, so you can also take into account this fact. Black and white are always in style because it goes with every other color. The combination between them in a kitchen lead to a sober and bold kitchen aspect. It black is applied in a smart way, it will give and elegant and sophisticated air to its design. If you have silver and golden knobs, paint the kitchen cabinets with cream. It’s a royal combination that uplift the mood and space. Another royal option is purple, a semi-opaque and rare color. Calm and serene, purple hues create a luxurious and expensive environment that has  always an air of mistery.

A modern approach as well is to combine two different shades of gray or tan to paint cabinetry if you’re into neutral hues. You’ll experiment a new dimension of your kitchen without injecting over-the-top color and your room will get more depth and interest.

Not many people don’t  think to paint their kitchen cabinets in a trendy color that is popular these days, because they fear they’ll grow tired of it and want something else. But the beauty of painting cabinets lies exactly in the fact that you can change it next time without much effort. Cabinets refinishing provides the same effect as replacement without resulting an unexpected, huge bill. You can create your kitchen design as extravagant or minimal as you want starting with beautifully resurfaced cabinets. Look at these  gorgeous cabinets to inspire you. • How to Restore Your Stainless Steel Kitchen Sinks

How to Restore Your Stainless Steel Kitchen Sinks

Affordability and strength combined with sleek aesthetics make stainless steel kitchen sinks one of the most popular choices nowadays, so many modern appliances are stainless steel. They come in a wide range of sizes and shapes on the market, as well as with different prices according to their quality level and manufacturing company.  Although they are very resistant to corrosion and truly stainless due to nichel and chromium that they contain, the fact that the kitchen is a very busy area in a house every day where the family meals are cooked and many of the household chores are made, the appearance of stainless steel kitchen sinks can be affected by scratches and other forms of damages over time no matter how much you paid for them.

Maintenance and proper care is very important in order to extend their life as much as possible. So prevention is your best bet if you’re not into spending lots of money and time why not for replacing them.  Stainless steel, in fact like any other material no matter how good it is, becomes dull and not so shiny as it is when it’s brand new and this process is normal, but not so aesthetically pleasant of course. That’s why restoring your stainless steel kitchen sink is a good alternative if you don’t want to spend more on remodeling or replacement.  Using some right techniques and products, you can make your sink shine again.

    •  For example, vinegar is a good product for homemade remedies regarding stainless steel sinks dealing with mineral deposits. To restore the shine and brightness on the sink’s surface, you may use hydrogen peroxide, while if you have water spots on it, wipe with a cloth soaked in alcohol concentrating on the affected area.

    • Another efficient technique is called re-gaining. You just need a scrubber pad which you’ll use it  like sand paper on the sink. Mineral deposits stored on the surface will be removed due to the tiny bits of metal that the scrubber pad has. Be careful not to damage even more by applying too much pressure. Polishing product is recommended to be utilized after scrubbing in order to reestablish the shimmer on your stainless steel kitchen sinks.
    • It’s vital to choose a high quality scratch remover and cleaning product, and also to read all the instructions before using them to avoid causing other unwanted problems. The most important tip to remember is acting gentle, with moderate pressure and rinse it thoroughly before applying anything else.
    • To restore their appearance and luster you can take into consideration the refinishing method. Cover with masking paper everything that surrounds the sink like the faucet, the counter top, walls, floor, and then apply a spray primer onto it. Wait to dry and after that spray the epoxy paint onto the sink for additional coating. This procedure will remove most scratches or friction and will give your stainless steel sink a whole new aspect.
    • The final step in the restoring process is placing a protective rubber mat .
